During the Inter-Ministerial media briefing on the prevailing situation in West Asia, Sanjeev Kumar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Coal said that in this current geopolitical situation, the coal sector carries a great responsibility and stands fully prepared to meet any consumer needs, backed by the robust railway support and sufficient stocks are available at the mines and power plants.

He also said that with the proactive planning and timely actions taken by the coal sector, adequate coal stocks have been built at the power plant, even well before signs of the evolving West Asia conflicts.
