During the inter-ministerial briefing on the ongoing situation in West Asia, Anupam Mishra, Additional Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs said that the Department of Consumer Affairs is keeping a close watch on the food security situation in the country. He informed that the department is monitoring the prices of the commodities, ensuring supply of commodities, and under the Essential Commodities Act, checking whether there is any hoarding or black marketing.
