During the inter-ministerial briefing on the ongoing situation in West Asia, Mukesh Mangal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways said that the DG Shipping control room remains active 24x7, and has handled a cumulative of 4,900 calls and over 10,000 emails since activation, including 116 calls and 335 emails in the past twenty four hours.

He also informed that the DG Shipping has facilitated safe repatriation of more than 975 Indian seafarers so far from the region, including 11 in the last twenty four hours.
