���������� On March 10, Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov and Foreign Minister of Iran Abbas Araghchi had a telephone conversation.

The Sides continued their exchange of views on the situation in the Middle East, which has sharply deteriorated following the unprovoked aggression by the US and Israel against Iran.

Sergey Lavrov reiterated Russia’s principled position in favour of the earliest possible de-escalation and a return to political and diplomatic settlement, with Russia standing ready to assist these efforts provided that the security interests of Iran and its regional neighbours are duly taken into account.
