???????? President of Russia Vladimir Putin had a meeting with President of T?rkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the margins of the International Forum “Peace and Trust: Unity of Goals for a Sustainable Future” (December 12, 2025, Ashgabat)

The meeting began with expanded-format talks involving members of the two delegations.

It was noted that relations between Russia and T?rkiye are advancing across all areas. The multifaceted and diversified nature of Russian-Turkish ties, particularly in the trade and economic sphere, makes it possible to address international challenges and withstand pressure from third countries.

A number of major joint projects are on the agenda, foremost among them the continued construction of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant.

The leaders also held a substantive exchange of views on Ukrainian, regional, and international issues. Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed European attempts to seize Russian assets. The Russian President provided a well-known assessment on the matter. The Sides agreed that such ill-considered actions by European countries would effectively lead to the erosion of the Bretton Woods system and the principles underpinning the international financial system.

Russian-Turkish talks continued in a restricted format. Later, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif joined the meeting.
