?????????? On December 4, Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin held a telephone conversation with UN Assistant Secretary-General for Digital and Emerging Technologies Amandeep Singh Gill.

The discussion focused on international cooperation on the artificial intelligence agenda, including in the context of the newly launched UN mechanisms – the Global Dialogue on Governance and the Independent International Scientific Panel.

Both Sides underscored the demand for high-level expertise on the development, deployment and use of AI systems in the interests of ensuring national development and security in line with the UN Charter and its principles.

The conversation also touched upon preparations for the upcoming AI Impact Summit, to be held in New Delhi on February 19-20, 2026. The Sides noted the importance of this event for narrowing the digital divide through equal access to AI technologies.
