⚡️Statement by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the entry into force of the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran:

On 2 October, the Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran, signed by President of Russia Vladimir Putin and President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian in Moscow on 17 January 2025, officially enters into force.

This event marks an important milestone in the history of Russian–Iranian interstate relations, which have reached a qualitatively new level of comprehensive strategic partnership. The document sets out key guidelines across all priority areas of bilateral cooperation for the long term.

It envisages strengthening cooperation on the international stage in the context of an emerging multipolar world order, including close coordination within leading multilateral associations, joint efforts to reinforce regional stability and security, and collective action to address common challenges and threats.

❗️ The Treaty reflects the strategic choice of the highest political leadership of Russia and Iran in favour of further strengthening friendly, good-neighbourly relations, which serve the fundamental interests of the peoples of both States.
