🇷🇺🇰🇭 66 years ago, on May 13, 1956, diplomatic relations were established between the USSR and Cambodia. In December 1991, Cambodia recognised the Russian Federation as the state-continuator of the USSR, and its legal successor. In 1995, Russia and Cambodia signed the Joint Declaration on the Foundations of Friendly Relations, the fundamental bilateral document that underpins cooperation.

ℹ️ Today, both countries are actively cooperating in a bilateral format as well as on international platforms. Russia and Cambodia are strengthening cooperation on defence and law enforcement. They have considerable potential for region-to-region cooperation, as well as trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
