It's ok to do a full investigation the first time, even if the prisoner is saying "i'm happy, i will redo that", "i should kill more people", etc.

since the investigation is even useful to understand "why this happened?", "how?", how can we do that better next time, etc. so is not just about defending the right of the prisoner, but really know all infos behind. So "wasting money" for that makes sense! even if we know "he did the crimes 100% without doubts".

But wasting money years later for similar things and then complaining that the death sentence is too expensive ... NO SENSE!

A death sentence costs, because there are 1000x of similar useless things, even if we know exactly "this dude made a massacre, he wants to die, he will redo that, he has mental problems, he cannot be recovered at all, etc."

Would be really time we make clear distinction between prisoners; where innocent people can ask such things, criminals with 100% proofs have NO RIGHT to ask such things!
