🔴 Despite protests, the NRA continued its annual meeting in Houston, Texas, just days after the mass school shooting in the same state.

🔴 At the event, the NRA hosted a "banned guns" raffle that featured the same weapon used at the Uvalde mass shooting.

🔴 Texas Gov. Greg Abbott gave two speeches about gun violence on Friday with different messages. In Uvalde, he said legislation is "on the table" to address gun violence. To an NRA audience, Abbott said laws do not stop "madmen" from "carrying out evil."

🔴 Abbott also announced Friday that an anonymous donor put forward $175,000 to cover all funeral costs of the victims involved in the mass shooting.

🔴 President Joe Biden visited Uvalde to pay respects to victims of the Robb Elementary School shooting. Demonstrators outside the school begged the President to "do something" about gun violence. "We will," Biden replied.
