አስቸኳይ ማስታወቂያ!!

የአሜሪካ ዜግነት ለአላችሁ ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያዊያን በሙሉ
በሀገራችን የኢሚግሬሽን ህግ መሰረት ከተፈቀደላቸው የቆይታ ጊዜ በላይ በተለያዩ ምክንያቶች የቆይታ ጊዜ ያለፈባቸው (overstay) ያደረጉ እና በኢሚግሬሽን ደንብ መሰረት ለገንዘብ መቀጮ የተዳረጉ ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያዊ አሜሪካውያን የመክፈል አቅም የሌላቸው መሆኑን በመግለፅ ቅጣቱ እንዲነሳላቸውና የሀገራችንን የኢሚግሬሽን ህግ አክብረው በህጋዊ መንገድ መንቀሳቀስ እንዲችሉ የቅጣት ምህረት ጥያቄ በተደጋጋሚ ሲያቀርቡ ቆይተዋል።

ተቋማችንም ጉዳዩን በፅሞና ሲመለከተው ቆይቶ የአሜሪካን ዜግነት ለአላቸው ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያዊያን ግለሰቦች የሚከተለውን ውሳኔ አሳልፏል።

አንደኛ፡ ከ18 አመት በታች ለሆናቸው ህፃናት ቅጣቱ ሙሉ በሙሉ ተትቶላቸው ወደ ህጋዊ የቪዛ አሰራር ውስጥ እንዲገቡ እንዲደረግ፤
ሁለተኛ፡ 18 አመት እና ከእዚያ በላይ ለሆኑ አዋቂዎች ካለባቸው የቅጣት ገንዘብ በግማሽ በመክፈል እንዲስተናገዱና ወደ ህጋዊ የቪዛ አሰራር እንዲገቡ በማለት ወስኗል።

በመሆኑም የህጉ አስፈላጊነት በዋናነት ማንኛውም የውጪ ዜግነት ያለው ግለሰብ በሀገራችን የሚያደርገው ቆይታ ህጋዊነትን የተከተለ እንዲሆን ታስቦ የተዘጋጀ ሲሆን ይህ የቅጣት ቅነሳና ምህረት እድል ግለሰቦቹን ወደ ህጋዊነት ለመምጣት የተሰጠ በመሆኑ፤ የተሰጠው እድል ለአንድ ጊዜ ብቻ መሆኑን አውቃችሁ ከመጋቢት 15/2018 ዓ.ም. እስከ ግንቦት 15/2018 ዓ.ም. ባሉት 60 ቀናት ውስጥ ወደ ኢሚግሬሽንና ዜግነት አገልግሎት ዋና መስሪያ ቤት እየቀረባችሁ አስፈላጊውን ዶክመንት በማሟላት እንድትስተናገዱና ወደ ህጋዊ የቪዛ አሰራር ውስጥ እንድትገቡ እያሳሰብን ከተሰጠው የጊዜ ገደብ በኋላ ግን በኢሚግሬሽን ደንብ መሰረት ብቻ የምናስተናግድ መሆኑን እንገልፃለን።

URGENT NOTICE
To All Ethiopian-Origin U.S. Citizens
The Immigration and Citizenship Service pleased to notify regarding the overstay penalty administrative amendment for all Ethiopian-origin U.S. citizens who have overstayed their legal permitted period of stay in Ethiopia.

Many individuals in this category, have exceeded their authorized stay and incurred fines under immigration regulations, have repeatedly requested that these penalties be waived, stating financial hardship and seeking the opportunity to regularize their status and travel legally in accordance with Ethiopian immigration laws.

In response to these requests, the Immigration and Citizenship Service has carefully reviewed the matter and reached at the following decisions for Ethiopian-origin U.S. citizens:
1. For Minors (under 18 years):
All penalties are fully waived, and Minors will be processed into the legal visa system.

2. For Adults (18 years and above):
Half of the penalty waived and by paying the rest half of the penalty amount, adults will gain full access to visa regularization process.

These measures are designed to uphold Ethiopia’s immigration laws by ensuring that all foreign nationals maintain a lawful status while residing in the country. Please note that this adjustment is a one‑time opportunity, granted solely to help individuals return to compliance and regularize their stay.

Therefore, we strongly encourage eligible individuals to act promptly. From March 24, 2026, to May 23, 2026, please visit the Immigration and Citizenship Service Headquarters within the 60‑day window, complete the required documentation, and enter the legal visa process. After the specified deadline, however, we will handle all cases strictly in accordance with immigration laws and regulations.
