Organizers say Egyptian authorities have begun using force against participants—detaining, harassing, physically harming, and deporting some activists. Hundreds of peaceful marchers from over 80 countries remain in limbo, with negotiations ongoing over their safe transfer to Cairo and the return of their passports.

If deportations proceed under false pretenses, march leaders say they will launch a hunger strike. Others are prepared to join in nonviolent protest.

The group—made up of humanitarians, educators, artists, doctors, and organizers—reaffirms its commitment to peaceful resistance and calls on the international community to pressure Egypt to deescalate.
