On April 2, the group had allegedly planned to carry out an arson or explosive attack near the Lucknow railway station, targeting railway signalling systems and other infrastructure. However, an ATS team intercepted and arrested the accused before the plan could be executed.
A conspiracy to sabotage railway signal boxes and infrastructure at Charbagh Railway Station, Lucknow has been successfully foiled by the UP Anti-Terrorist Squad (UP ATS). Four accused — operating under directions of a Pakistan-based handler via social media and encrypted apps — were arrested from the station premises. Flammable substances and electronic equipment were recovered from their possession. Indian Railways commends the U.P ATS for their swift action and assures the public that passenger safety remains our highest priority.
