China has issued a stern warning to Pakistan, demanding that the outstanding dues to United Energy Pakistan (UEP) be paid immediately (approx 220 Million Dollars) . China states that this delay in payment will not only erode the confidence of international investors but could also block future investment avenues.
According to a report in The News, the Pakistani ambassador in Beijing has sent an "urgent note" to his government. The note clearly states that if the money is not received, the company's operations could be shut down. This situation would directly impact Pakistan's energy supply.
And meanwhile, Pakistan is busy offering dalali (mediation) between Iran and the US. 🚬
