GE has handed over the sixth F404 engine for Tejas Mk1A in the US. However, HAL has yet to receive this sixth engine in India and now GE cites the Gulf war as the reason for the delay. Only six engines were delivered to HAL in the last fiscal year, which ended on Tuesday - short of the 11 promised under the revised timeline.
