“The new Vukovar” invokes the 1991 siege and destruction of Vukovar during the Croatian War, while “the second Srebrenica” invokes the 1995 Srebrenica genocide, where more than 8,000 Bosniak men and boys were killed.

So the message is effectively threatening that Novi Pazar and Sjenica, both with large Bosniak populations, could face mass violence, destruction, or ethnic cleansing comparable to those wartime atrocities.

Both cities are located in the Sandžak region of Serbia.
