Poilievre wants to protect the immigration system that brought his wife to Canada.
On Anaida Poilievre: His wife left Venezuela at 8 and came here as a "refugee". Her father was a bank manager, and no information is given other than escaping political instability. So, his wife's family is just the same as the rest of them, exploiting the asylum system. Having a decent job and claiming refugee status in a first-world country doesn't make you a refugee. By those standards, most Canadians are refugees then. Even if he wasn't a liar, he would never do what needs to be done because he is biased in favour of the invaders. His wife is one.
