?? The Truth Behind “12 O’Clock” – Not a Joke, But a Legacy of Courage
Back in 1739, when the Mughal Empire was crumbling, Nadir Shah of Persia invaded Delhi. The city was looted, tens of thousands were massacred, and countless innocent women were abducted, chained, and taken to be sold in slave markets in Baghdad and beyond.
As his forces retreated through Punjab, they thought they were untouchable. But there was one force that refused to stay silent — the Sikhs.
Though heavily outnumbered, they didn’t back down. Instead, they waited for the right moment — midnight. Under the cover of darkness, they launched a daring raid, catching the enemy by surprise and rescuing many of the abducted women. Most were Hindus, and the Sikhs ensured they were safely returned to their families.
?? These midnight missions became a hallmark of Sikh resistance — intelligent, strategic, and fearless. They struck when the enemy least expected it, not for loot, but for justice.
Yet today, this heroic tradition has been twisted into a joke — the so-called “12 o’clock” mockery.
?? But here’s the truth:
“12 o’clock” is not a time of foolishness. It’s a time when Sikhs rose for the voiceless, fought impossible odds, and reminded tyrants that righteousness never sleeps.
?? Turning such legacy into humor is not funny — it’s historical disrespect.
Let’s remember the truth. Let’s honor the courage. Let’s educate those who never knew.
