Discovering the Russian North

Content creators from the International Content Center of the WYF have joined a special themed tour organized by Russian Railways..

Together with community leaders from 10 countries, they set off to explore the Russian North — Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, Petrozavodsk, Vyborg, Sortavala, and Belomorsk — across thousands of kilometers filled with new experiences.

The journey will take them to Kizhi Island, Teriberka Nature Park, the White Sea Petroglyphs, Ruskeala Mountain Park, and other iconic places that will help them fall even more in love with its beauty!

Russia inspires

At VK Fest, the conversation was about what brings us together — Russia, creativity, and the people behind the stories.

Young content creators — Salman Alsaafi from Egypt, Aelita Ametova and Karina Dubishina from Russia, Calem Cobbinah from Ghana, and Roman Dubinin from Australia — took part in the Blogger Lounge at the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs’ Creators’ Dacha space.

They shared their experiences of living in Russia, spoke about opportunities for creativity and professional growth, and discussed what helps young creators make meaningful content and connect with audiences today.

Our creators also joined activities at the House of the First, hosted by our friends from the Movement of the First.

In less than two months, 10 000 young leaders from 190 countries will come together at the IFY–2026 in Ekaterinburg. One of the Festival’s key spaces will be the Media Hub — a place where young people from around the world will create international media projects together.

And the story won’t end there — the best content will appear on the Festival screens, giving everyone the chance to experience inspiring stories created by young people from across the globe!

Content brings people together — and today we saw it once again

Today’s Blogger Lounge at the Rosmolodezh “Creators’ Dacha” during VK Fest was filled with honest conversations about blogging, life in Russia, finding your audience, and how content helps people from different countries understand one another.

Creators from the World Youth Festival Directorate’s International Content Center shared their stories:

Salman Mustafa Salman Alsafi (Egypt), founder of ArabRussiaOfficial, a project introducing the Arab world to Russia and its culture;
Calem Cobbinah (Ghana), musician, producer, and content creator sharing stories about life, travel, and culture in Russia.
They were joined by:
Aelita Ametova (Russia), correspondent for ArabRussiaOfficial and author covering Russian culture and Russian-Arab cooperation;
Karina Dubishina (Russia), host of the English-language project Iconic Russia, showcasing modern Russia to an international audience.

Meetings like these are a chance to hear stories from people who prove that content can inspire, connect people across cultures, and bring the world a little closer together.

Meet Kseniya Lanets from Belarus, an intern at the World Youth Festival Directorate.

Kseniya is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Russia and already has an impressive background. She was a delegate at the UNESCO General Assembly Youth Forum and worked as a liaison officer for high-level delegations at Roscongress summits.

She first got to know the World Youth Festival Directorate during the international session of the SHUM Forum in 2024.

More than just meetings

Sharing the highlights from the second day! Today, the focus was on digital technologies, creative industries, youth policy, and investments.

We met with Moses Mwasaga, Head of the Commission for Information and Communication Technologies, to discuss how to develop cooperation in the IT sector.

Another meeting was held with Edward Buganga, Director of the National Arts Council, where we talked about supporting creative youth and developing new cultural projects.

Leila Zotova, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, met with Rabia Abdallah Hamid, Secretary of the National Executive Council of the Revolutionary Party, and Khalid Mwinji, Head of the Youth League. The main topics of the meeting were youth projects, sharing experience, and strengthening cooperation between countries.

The day continued with a meeting with Jilead Teri, Head of the Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority, where ideas for future joint initiatives were discussed. The day ended with Leila Zotova’s interview for Clouds TV.

First day in Tanzania — and the journey has already begun

The Russian delegation led by Leila Zotova, Deputy Head of the Rosmolodezh, held a series of meetings opening new opportunities for young people from both countries.

During the meeting with Andrey Avetisyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Tanzania, they discussed key areas of cooperation: IT, agriculture, cultural exchanges, collaboration with community leaders and content creators, media, and educational opportunities for Tanzanian youth at Russian universities.

With Pius Stephen Chaya, Deputy Minister for Planning and Investment, the delegation talked about creative industries and joint initiatives that can help young people launch their own projects.

The day ended with a meeting at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture, bringing together more than 250 participants, including alumni of WYFD projects and local content creators.

These meetings are a great way to build trust, exchange ideas, and find new partners for international initiatives.
