International Students Bid Farewell to the Academic Year

📚 The final meetings of the Cultural Campus project for this academic year were held at the Ekaterinburg Municipal Library Association. During the closing meetings, students:

learned about the traditions of graduation ceremonies in Russia
shared how graduation is celebrated in their home countries
watched a video highlighting the academic year and featuring the best photos from the meetings

Cultural Campus is a joint project by the Ekaterinburg Municipal Library Association and UrFU aimed at the social and cultural integration of international students. Over the past two years, 60 events have been held, bringing together more than 300 international students.

UrFU Student Startup Recognized as the Best in Russia

💯 Ural Federal University has once again proved its status as a leading hub for youth innovation in Russia.

The IRIT-RtF team, presenting the "Fusion AI" project, took first place, winning the top award at the finals of the All-Russian "Startup as a Diploma" thesis competition. Creators Kirill Belotserkovets and Gleb Mozglyakov pitched an intelligent system to the expert jury that tracks the health and behavior of farm animals using computer vision and neural networks.

Two additional UrFU student startups also excelled in the finals, securing spots among the top 15 projects nationwide and winning special awards from the competition's partners.

These included: Elizaveta Veprova’s (INSM) project, "Speech Analytics with Voice Recognition and an AI Mentor for Medical Clinics", and Sergey Pyatygin’s ( IFT) project on reagent-free mine water treatment.

UrFU Improved Its Position in QS World University Rankings 2027

Ural Federal University moved up from 519th to 504th place globally and from 10th to 8th among Russian universities according to QS World University Rankings 2027.

🚀 Biggest leap: +175 spots in "Reputation among Employers" (from 544th to 369th).

In international scientific cooperation, UrFU ranks 1st in Russia and 157th worldwide.

9,000 Graduates Received Their Diplomas at UrFU
 
On June 27, about 9,000 bachelor’s, master’s, and graduate students received their diplomas at the ceremony in front of UrFU main academic building.
 

During the celebration, the graduates enjoyed:

Top 100 graduates awarded on stage for excellence in studies, research, and social life
