A vulnerability was discovered (and has already been fixed) affecting Japanese accounts, allowing users to purchase Telegram Stars at extremely low prices (for example, 10,000 Stars for around $1.50). As a result, some users used them to buy the most expensive gifts on the internal marketplace.

There is no need to worry. As usual, these gifts remain transfer-restricted, meaning they cannot be sent to external marketplaces (unless they were purchased directly on accounts belonging to third-party marketplaces).

Telegram is likely to roll back these purchases and freeze the accounts that took advantage of the vulnerability

A new configuration value, ephemeral_welcome_messages_max, has been added to the test server with a value of 5.

This likely indicates that, in a future update, bots will be able to send users up to 5 ephemeral welcome messages.

By default, the quick reaction list is automatically ordered based on the reactions you use most often. With this new feature, you'll be able to manually rearrange the order to match your preferences.

A future Telegram Desktop update will add a new experimental setting called «Favorite folder button».

This feature will let you add a customizable button to the folder list, which can act as a shortcut to any Telegram destination.

The button supports both tg:// and t.me/ links.

In the new Telegram Desktop v7.0.2 update, member filtering has been added to groups.

When viewing the member list, you can now filter it to show admins, bots, or members by tapping the button in the top-right corner.

Telegram for iOS users may encounter an issue where, without Telegram Premium, they are unable to send messages using the Quote formatting.

This is a bug — the feature has not become paid and will be fixed in a future update.

As a workaround, tap Send Without Formatting — the message containing the Quote will be sent successfully.

Third-party Android app/APK store «APKPure» is distributing a modified version of Telegram disguised as official one. This modified Telegram contains a malicious "DataCollector" class that collects basically all information about you. The code also contains a hardcoded IP address. After checking it, the server location points to Hong Kong, China. Also, APKPure’s latest "stable"  Telegram update is still v12.6.5 from May 9, 2026, while the official stable update is already v12.7.3 from May 15, 2026. Another sign that APKPure distributes modified Telegram builds. After checking the official stable Telegram build, I did not find any "DataCollector" class there — despite some people claiming it exists in the official app too. Telegram Beta for iOS is now available by invitation only. The old invitation links will be revoked soon.

However, not everyone will be able to join the new beta program. To receive an invitation, you are expected to actively report bugs and provide feedback during testing.

Telegram has also introduced a new official bot for beta invitations: @TestFlightInvitesBot.

This means that a Community can now contain up to 100 groups and channels, as well as up to 100 bots. You can add a channel to a Community only if it has up to 10,000 subscribers, and a group only if it has up to 500 members.

As for the overall limits, as mentioned earlier, a Community can contain up to 100 groups and channels combined, as well as up to 100 bots.

teleLakel The BotFather MiniApp has been updated on the production server. A new BotCloud feature has been added, although it is not yet available to all users. BotCloud will allow developers to create and run server-side Cloud Functions directly on Telegram's infrastructure. Instead of maintaining their own server or using webhooks, developers will be able to write JavaScript code in BotFather, and Telegram will execute it in the cloud. The current update already includes a Cloud Functions editor, the ability to create, edit, save, and delete functions, as well as validation for function names to ensure they are unique and meet the required rules. BotCloud in BotFather is now available to a limited number of users. Telegram has started sending invitations to test the new Bot API with BotCloud support.

With BotCloud, developers will be able to run bots, JavaScript code, and databases directly on Telegram's infrastructure, without the need to maintain their own servers.

For now, access is by invitation only, while the documentation is already available to testers.
