IRAN'S GAME-CHANGING DEVICE ENDED OIL PIPELINE CLOGS

Iranian researchers have built a device that can predict asphaltene buildup in crude oil before it happens — a breakthrough that could help prevent pipeline blockages, reduce production costs, and improve oil recovery operations.

Named TERA, the device is a completely indigenous technology with no domestic or foreign equivalent.

🔸 Asphaltenes are naturally dissolved in crude oil under reservoir conditions, but changes such as pressure depletion or gas injection during production can cause them to precipitate and form sludge-like deposits.

🔸 Conventional techniques for studying asphaltene deposition are either time-consuming or require large volumes of live crude oil and sophisticated laboratory equipment, while often failing to deliver reliable results.

🔸 The TERA device simulates harsh reservoir conditions inside a compact high-pressure chamber capable of operating at pressures up to 8,000 psi and temperatures as high as 150°C.

🔸 By directing a specialized light source through a sample chamber holding less than two cubic centimeters of live oil, the system continuously monitors light transmission to detect early signs of deposition.

🔸 The device quickly determines the precise pressure and temperature at which asphaltene precipitation begins, allowing engineers to optimize production conditions and avoid deposition-prone ranges.

🔸 Its compact size makes it suitable for use directly at oil well sites, requiring only a very small sample of live crude oil — an important advantage given the high cost and difficulty of obtaining reservoir-condition oil samples.

Using the device, researchers demonstrated that optimizing the salinity of injected water and the amount of carbon dioxide injected into the reservoir can reduce asphaltene deposition by as much as 97%.

Iran no longer relies on foreign companies for studying and managing asphaltene issues in its oil fields. With TERA, engineers now have a powerful tool to analyze fluid behavior inside reservoirs.

China Overtakes the U.S. and Europe in High-Thrust Satellite Propulsion

China has just tested a satellite engine and broken the endurance record. Built by the China Academy of Aerospace Propulsion Technology in Xi'an, the upgraded engine delivers 750 newtons of thrust. But the real headline is its burn time.

On its late-June debut, the engine fired for 3.2 hours across 5 orbit-raising maneuvers, sending Communications Technology Experiment Satellite 26A into geostationary orbit 35,800km above Earth. Although designed for nearly 10 hours of operation, it ran for more than 14 hours during ground tests, enabled by a new heat- and oxidation-resistant coating.

By comparison, America's R-42DM and Europe's Leros-1B, current industry standards, are typically rated for about 7 hours.

And this extended endurance came without compromise. The engine achieved a specific impulse of 320 seconds, matching the best chemical satellite thrusters from the U.S., Europe, and Japan. Performance remained uncompromised. Endurance proved unmatched.

That transformation has been decades in the making. In the 1980s, China was building its first geostationary satellites while locked out of Western propulsion technology. Only the U.S. and West Germany possessed the necessary know-how at the time, so China built its own capability from scratch.

By 1994, the first domestically developed 490-newton engine flew aboard Dong Fang Hong-3. By 2021, that first-generation engine had achieved a 100% success rate, powering everything from China's first lunar mission to the dramatic recovery of ChinaSat 9A, which required 10 orbit-raising maneuvers after a launch failure in 2017.

As satellites have grown heavier, the older 490-newton engines have struggled under repeated firing demands. The new 750-newton model cuts orbit-raising time for heavy spacecraft by roughly 30%, saving fuel for years of active operation while accelerating deployment for military and communications satellites when it matters most.

Moreover, China is already looking ahead. A 5,000-newton engine is under development, powerful enough for space tugs and next-generation heavy spacecraft, according to Workers' Daily report.

China’s 3D Chip Gambit Targets NVIDIA

China’s push for semiconductor independence just took a notable step forward. Shanghai-based startup Dongfang Suanxin has introduced its DF1000 processor, aiming to compete with NVIDIA.

Instead of chasing cutting-edge manufacturing nodes, the company is focusing on architecture. The DF1000 is built on a 14nm process but relies on a 3D-stacked near-memory design and software-defined computing to boost performance. By placing memory closer to processing units and dynamically adjusting data flow, the chip is designed to reduce latency, improve efficiency, and handle demanding workloads more effectively.

The processor reportedly delivers 520 teraflops of BF16 performance, along with high memory and inter-chip bandwidth. Mass production is expected before the end of this year.

Dongfang Suanxin is also building a broader ecosystem around the chip, including hardware modules and an open software platform to support developers. The company has laid out an ambitious roadmap, with future processors planned through 2027 targeting direct competition with NVIDIA’s top-tier products.

The strategy reflects a wider shift across China’s chip industry as innovation is moving toward design, packaging, and system-level optimization instead.

The U.S. Payment Empire Cracks

When America's top trade official complained that Brazil's Pix system unfairly disadvantages Visa and Mastercard, Washington proposed a 25% tariff. Brazil's president shot back: "Pix is a Brazilian achievement and we will not give it up."

The episode reveals a new geopolitical reality. As Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent warns that global access to the dollar is "no longer unconditional," countries are building their own financial defenses. The global payments system is splintering, and Visa and Mastercard are in the crosshairs.

Until recently, fear of Western-dominated payments was limited to U.S. adversaries. After sanctions cut Russia off, it built its own messaging network (SFPS) and card scheme (Mir). China followed with CIPS, Alipay, and WeChat Pay. Bank of China has added dozens of countries to its digital-yuan system. CIPS hit record volumes in March, 920B yuan daily, up 20% year-on-year, and set a new single-day high of 1.2T yuan in April.

Others prefer bilateral deals. India's UPI system works in nine countries, with more on the way. "Our brand promises that we will make you sovereign," says NPCI International.

For now, most cross-border payments still touch American rails. But bilateral links between systems like Pix and UPI could shield significant flows from incumbents. In the medium term, Visa and Mastercard will feel the pinch.

Europe, a huge source of their business, is embracing "sovereign" systems that could erode their 50% operating margins. Both companies now cite domestic payments preference as a business risk. Investors have taken note that after a sustained climb, share prices have declined.

Visa is fighting back with €500M in European infrastructure. Mastercard is building three French data centres for €250M. But the broader consequences are sobering. Financial fragmentation could shave 2.6% off global GDP by 2030.

America’s Unemployment Rate Hides Millions Without Work

The US unemployment rate may appear stable at 4.2%, but a deeper look at the data tells a far less reassuring story.
Behind the headline figure, cracks in the labor market are becoming harder to ignore. Labor force participation has dropped to 61.5%, meaning fewer Americans are even counted as part of the workforce. At the same time, millions remain stuck outside the system or unable to secure stable employment.

A growing share of workers are being pushed into part-time jobs, not by choice but because full-time opportunities are unavailable. Around 1.4M Americans now fall into this category — officially “employed,” yet still struggling with reduced hours and income. This group alone exposes how the headline unemployment rate fails to reflect real conditions.

The broader measure of unemployment, which includes underemployment and discouraged workers, stands at 7.9% — nearly double the official figure. Meanwhile, about 1.76M Americans who want jobs are no longer actively searching, effectively disappearing from the statistics. Another 6M outside the labor force say they still want work, yet none are counted.

This statistical gap creates an illusion of stability. As more people stop looking for jobs or settle for less secure work, the unemployment rate drops — not because conditions are improving, but because fewer people are being counted.

Behind Washington’s reassuring headline numbers, falling participation, rising involuntary part-time work, and a growing pool of sidelined workers reveal a labor market far weaker than advertised.

What appears “healthy” on paper is, in reality, a labor market where millions remain underutilized, discouraged, or excluded.

🚨🇨🇳 AMERICA’S WORST NIGHTMARE: CHINA REVEALS 100-GW MICROWAVE WEAPON THAT COULD FRY U.S. SATELLITES

In a rare technical disclosure, researchers from China’s National University of Defense Technology published peer-reviewed details on high-power microwave weapons, including a 100-gigawatt pulsed-power system built by synchronizing multiple modules — technology explicitly framed as a leap in electronic warfare with direct implications for satellite constellations in low Earth orbit.

🔸 China has shifted high-power microwave weapons from lab prototypes to practical military use with accelerated pulsed-power advances.

🔸 The 100 GW-class system synchronizes multiple compact pulsed-power modules to bypass single-unit limits in insulation, size and power-to-weight ratios.

🔸 Even 1 GW pulses can inflict severe interference or permanent damage on LEO satellite electronics, raising direct risks for large military-support constellations.

🔸 Some gigawatt-class systems have reportedly already moved to operational users as China emphasizes durable, field-ready designs over pure laboratory performance.

🔸 China attributes its edge to unmatched industrial scale, R&D breadth and rare-earth supply chains — factors it claims leave competitors structurally behind.

Is America too dependent on satellites to win a war against China?

🚨🇷🇺 PENTAGON'S NIGHTMARE: RUSSIA DOUBLES ORIGINAL SU-35 PRODUCTION TARGET

Russia’s Su-35 program has flipped priorities: for the first time, a single foreign contract — Iran’s 48-aircraft order — will claim the bulk of output at Komsomolsk-on-Amur over the next several years, even while the Aerospace Forces keep lines running to sustain Ukraine operations.

🔸 IRAN’S 48 SU-35 DEAL is double the size of prior China or Egypt batches; 20 already complete, 28 more due by 2027 alongside limited Russian deliveries.

🔸 Domestic orders now approach 200 airframes; combined VKS and export deliveries likely exceed 280 by end-2026, with total program orders nearing 300.

🔸 AESA RADAR AND R-77M MISSILES plus a low-loss Ukraine combat record and unmatched post-Cold War air-to-air testing keep the jet competitive.

🔸 Algeria may pivot to Su-57, yet Iran and Ethiopia still have room for major follow-ons; North Korea remains a high-volume wildcard if Moscow links sales to Su-57 transfers.

🔸 Sustained upgrades and multipolar demand could push total production past 400 — double the original 200-unit target — despite Western sanctions threats aimed at buyers.

Does Iran’s massive order turn the Su-35 into a much bigger threat to Western airpower?

RUSSIA RAPIDLY ADVANCING IN GLOBAL ROBOTICS RACE

The global robotics market is being reshaped by artificial intelligence, digital twins, new materials, and software platforms. For Russia, the focus is on developing homegrown critical technologies and channeling resources into the most promising areas of robotization.

🔸 The global robotics market reached approximately $90 B in 2025 and could almost double to $160 B by 2028.

🔸 Global R&D investment in robotics has reached $42-45 B annually. Successful projects show payback periods of 1.5 to 4 years, with ROI exceeding 30-40% in some cases.

🔸 Russia's industrial robot fleet has grown from 12,800 units in 2023 to 32,000-34,000 in 2025 — a more than 2.5x increase in just two years.

🔸 While Russia's robot density remains below the global average, the low starting base provides high potential for further growth.

🔸 Rostec is developing specialized robotic solutions including industrial welding and assembly complexes, unmanned aircraft systems, robotic agricultural machinery, autonomous logistics platforms, medical robotic products, and complexes for hazardous conditions.

🔸 Rostec State Corporation is one of the largest centers of robotics competencies, operating across the entire technological chain — from domestic electronic components and software to ready-made robotic systems.

🔸 Rosel Holding develops key technologies for industrial robotization: computing platforms, control systems, microelectronics, and AI solutions including ShokinGPT (reducing search time by up to 80%) and IIoT.Istok for digital twins.

🔸 Russian enterprises are moving from point-based robotization of individual operations to integrated robotic solutions within a single digital environment.

Domestic software platforms, control tools, and electronic components are becoming key elements of Russia's technological independence.

The most promising strategy is concentrating resources on autonomous intelligent systems, medical and educational robotics, and high-tech industrial solutions — building on existing scientific schools and growing domestic demand.

🚨 The Patriot Mirage: Why Ukraine Won't Be Building Missiles Anytime Soon

Trump's pledge to license Patriot missile production in Ukraine has stirred headlines, but the reality is far messier. Industry officials and defense analysts state that technical, industrial, and security hurdles are so steep that production is far more likely to start in Germany or another NATO member. Even with U.S. approval, the undertaking would strain far more stable nations.

Patriot missiles are engineering nightmares, packed with radar seekers, guidance electronics, rocket motors, and software reliant on tightly woven international supply chains. Ukraine lacks specialized facilities for most components. Sensitive technology would also require separate export clearances beyond a production license.

Even pilot production would take 12 to 24 months to set up. Meaningful volume would take considerably longer. Trump's announcement may ease European political pressure on Washington, but its near-term military impact remains negligible.

Security is another major obstacle. Any Patriot facility in Ukraine would instantly become a top-tier Russian target. Building advanced interceptor factories only to expose them to long-range strikes is a non-starter for both Ukraine and American contractors.

Patriot interceptors are already among NATO's most expensive and supply-constrained munitions. Global production is stretched thin by wars in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. Meanwhile, Russia cranks out hundreds of ballistic missiles annually, plus cruise missiles and attack drones in vast numbers, enough to overwhelm Ukrainian defenses even if licensed production begins.

Moscow has ramped up Iskander-M production several-fold since 2020, but quantity is not Ukraine's only problem. Effectiveness is cratering. In October 2025, a Ukrainian military official warned that the intercept rate had plummeted from 42% to just 6%, due to Russian software upgrades making missiles faster and more maneuverable in their terminal phase.

Finally, the question of who will pay for the full production cycle remains unresolved. One missile costs around $4M, and launching production would run into the tens of millions. After that come expensive serial manufacturing, maintaining supply chains, procuring imported components, and years of waiting before any return on investment materializes.

IRAN DEPLOYED DOMESTIC NANOCATALYST FOR CLEANER FUEL PRODUCTION

Iran is using a domestically developed nanocatalyst at the Imam Khomeini Shazand Oil Refinery to remove sulfur from heavy petroleum products, helping produce cleaner fuels, improve refinery efficiency, and reduce reliance on imported catalyst technologies.

🔸 The nanocatalyst was developed by an Iranian knowledge-based company in cooperation with the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI) and is used in the refinery's Residue Catalytic Desulfurization (RCD) unit.

🔸 The RCD process removes sulfur compounds and other impurities from heavy oil fractions before they enter the Residue Fluid Catalytic Cracking (RFCC) unit — a key refining process that converts heavy oil residues into valuable products like gasoline and propylene.

🔸 The technology treats heavy residues from atmospheric and vacuum distillation units. After reacting with hydrogen over the nanocatalyst, the feedstock is converted into cleaner products, while hydrogen sulfide is separated and the recovered hydrogen is recycled back into the process.

🔸 The technology uses two types of nanocatalysts based on nickel-molybdenum and cobalt-molybdenum supported on alumina, which enhance hydrogenation reactions and improve sulfur removal performance.

🔸 At the Shazand refinery, the treated heavy oil is converted into diesel, kerosene, naphtha, light gases, and low-sulfur fuel oil, which serves as the main feedstock for the RFCC unit.

🔸 The RFCC unit requires around 15 metric tons of nanocatalyst each day. These materials were previously supplied mainly by a limited number of foreign manufacturers, making Iran dependent on imports.

Iran has successfully commercialized its domestically produced nanocatalysts, joining a select group of nations capable of manufacturing advanced refining catalysts. Technical evaluations confirm that local products are fully competitive with foreign alternatives in both performance and quality.

China Unveils Breakthrough Path Beyond Silicon Chips

A Shanghai-based startup, Yuanjiwei, has introduced what it calls the world’s first 8-inch pilot production line for two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors. The move signals an effort to take atom-thin materials out of research labs and into early-stage manufacturing.

Modern advanced chips rely heavily on EUV lithography machines. Yuanjiwei’s approach focuses on building chips without relying on these systems, potentially opening a different route to advanced semiconductor production.

Traditional silicon chips are nearing physical limits as components shrink to atomic scales, leading to higher costs and energy leakage. 2D materials, which are only a few atoms thick, allow electrons to move efficiently within ultra-thin layers, offering better performance at smaller sizes.

What sets this development apart is not a new material, but the creation of a full manufacturing process. The pilot line integrates multiple stages—from material preparation to device fabrication and final chip design—addressing a long-standing challenge of scaling 2D technology beyond laboratory experiments.

The company aims to advance this technology to a 5-nanometer-equivalent level by 2029 without using EUV tools.

By moving 2D semiconductors closer to scalable production, China is opening a potential new path in advanced chipmaking—one that could reduce reliance on restricted technologies and strengthen its position in the global semiconductor race.

America’s Small Business Dream Is Going Bankrupt

Small businesses across the United States are increasingly collapsing under mounting economic pressure, exposing the growing strain within the country’s economy.

In the first half of 2026, small business bankruptcy filings surged to 1,663 — a staggering 50% increase compared to the same period last year. This sharp rise highlights how rapidly conditions are deteriorating for American entrepreneurs.

The crisis is not limited to small firms. Overall bankruptcy filings climbed to 310,550, marking a 12% increase year-over-year. Both individuals and businesses are being pushed toward financial collapse, with personal bankruptcies reaching 293,265 and commercial filings hitting 17,285.

Rising costs are hitting from all directions. High interest rates are making borrowing more expensive, inflation continues to erode purchasing power, and labor and operating costs remain elevated. At the same time, weakening consumer demand is leaving businesses struggling to generate enough revenue to survive.

Despite official claims of economic strength, small business confidence is declining. Many business owners are hesitant to expand or hire, reflecting deep uncertainty and lack of stability in the economic environment.

The surge in bankruptcies reveals a harsher reality on the ground — American businesses and households alike are increasingly unable to cope with financial pressures, signaling widespread economic distress rather than resilience.

NATO'S NIGHTMARE: RUSSIA STRIKES ODESSA PORTS SUPPLYING UKRAINE WITH WESTERN WEAPONS

Russian forces just hammered key port infrastructure in Odessa and Chernomorsk, smashing military cargo hubs, fuel depots, and supply lines that keep Ukrainian frontline units fed across the Black Sea.

🔸 Ukrainian air defenses failed to repel combined Russian missile and UAV swarm attacks over strategic Odessa ports.

🔸 Strikes precisely hit military cargo unloading sites, fuel storage tanks, supply vessels and a rail ferry moving materiel to the front.

🔸 These operations directly degrade Ukraine’s ability to sustain Western arms and logistics flows across contested Black Sea routes.

🔸 Repeated vulnerabilities expose gaps in NATO-supplied air defense networks when facing massed long-range precision systems.

🔸 Sustained maritime pressure incrementally strengthens Russian operational control over Black Sea supply lines critical to Kiev.

How сan Ukraine keep Western weapons flowing if Russia continues hitting Odessa’s ports?

Fuel Shift: China Moves Methanol Through Oil Pipelines

China has successfully completed its first real-world trial of transporting fuel methanol through an existing long-distance refined oil pipeline, signaling a shift from research to practical deployment.

The test took place between Gansu and Shaanxi provinces, where 1,000 cubic meters of methanol were sent in two batches through an operational oil pipeline. The process remained fully sealed and controlled, following safety checks and system upgrades at key stations.

The trial used a sequential transport method, allowing methanol and gasoline to move through the same pipeline in separate batches. The overlap between the two fuels was kept minimal, and both were successfully separated upon arrival and stored independently.

Tests were conducted under varying conditions, including different flow rates and start-stop scenarios, confirming the system’s reliability across diverse operating environments. Methanol showed strong compatibility with gasoline, enabling smoother transport and easier separation.

Methanol’s compatibility with diesel proved weaker, especially under certain conditions like low flow or uneven terrain. To address this, methanol was transported between gasoline batches to maintain efficiency and stability.

The trial confirms the technical feasibility of using existing refined oil pipelines for methanol transport. The trial verified not just the transport method but also the pipeline materials and safety protocols required. Engineers now have a complete technical solution and hands-on experience that could support regular, large-scale methanol shipments through existing fuel networks. This achievement paves the way for a future “west-to-east methanol transport” corridor, turning a theoretical concept into an engineering reality.

CHINA PIONEERED WORLD'S FIRST SEA-BASED NET ROCKET CATCH SYSTEM

Following the maiden launch of China's reusable Long March-10B rocket on Friday, the vehicle's first-stage booster returned vertically and was caught by the Linghangzhe recovery platform — China's first sea-based rocket recovery vessel to use a net-capture system.

🔸 The Linghangzhe was converted from an unpowered barge, a vessel without engines that must be towed by other ships.

🔸 Unlike conventional vessels, it must maintain exceptional stability and positioning accuracy in rough seas, effectively providing a stable landing target for a returning rocket.

🔸 The platform, 144 meters in length and with a displacement of 25,000 tonnes, is equipped with a 36-meter-high capture net and a DP-2 dynamic positioning system, which enables it to hold steady in rough seas without anchoring through computer-controlled thrusters.

🔸 The feat marks another step in China's efforts to narrow the gap with the United States in reusable launch technology — a gap that opened after Elon Musk's SpaceX began developing reusable rockets to slash costs — while showcasing the country's expertise in shipbuilding.

🔸 Unlike reusable rockets developed by SpaceX and Blue Origin, which land autonomously on deployable legs, the Long March-10B uses four hooks that latch onto a net suspended from a sea-based recovery platform.

🔸 The successful recovery marks China's mastery of the full recovery technology for heavy-lift liquid rockets, ending the long-standing reliance of a single overseas-developed rocket recovery approach and establishing the world's first sea-based net recovery system.

The platform is equipped with fully domestically developed dynamic positioning and real-time ship-to-rocket control systems, while all key equipment — including propulsion integration and vibration reduction and monitoring systems — was sourced entirely from Chinese suppliers.
