IDF: The IDF dismantled several key underground tunnels in the tunnel network beneath the Beaufort Ridge in southern Lebanon

A short while ago, as part of a limited activity within the area of the Security Zone, IDF soldiers dismantled several key underground tunnels beneath the Beaufort Ridge.

The tunnel network served as a central command center from which Hezbollah terrorists and commanders managed combat and directed fire toward IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians. The tunnel network constitutes a strategic Hezbollah stronghold, consisting of several underground levels that were built over the course of two decades. The network also served as a central terror command center for Hezbollah's Bader Unit in southern Lebanon. It was planned and funded by the Iranian terrorist regime.

The tunnel network posed a threat to the residents of northern Israel and IDF soldiers, as it was located just 6 kilometers away from the area of Metula and the Galilee Panhandle. Over the course of the war, dozens of UAVs, explosive devices, and anti-tank missiles were launched from this infrastructure toward Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. Tonight, the IDF dismantled a significant portion of the underground tunnel network.

Over the past several weeks, IDF soldiers completed their deployment in the area of the Beaufort Ridge, while maintaining operational control of the underground tunnel network and preparing it for dismantling.

IDF soldiers continue to operate in the area of Ali Taher Ridge, remain on high alert, and are prepared for both defensive and offensive scenarios. Attacks on IDF soldiers will be responded to accordingly.

The IDF continues to remain committed to the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon and will continue to operate to remove any threat posed to IDF soldiers.

IDF: The IDF eliminated a sniper cell commander in Hamas’ Nuseirat Battalion and a terrorist who infiltrated Israeli territory on October 7th

Earlier this week (Monday), the IDF struck in the southern Gaza Strip and eliminated Ahmad Hisham Mahmoud Louh, a sniper cell commander in Hamas’ Nuseirat Battalion.

Mahmoud Louh served as the last sniper cell commander in Hamas’ Nuseirat Battalion. His elimination joins a series of eliminations of sniper cell commanders in the Nuseirat Battalion.

IDF: *The Chief of the General Staff in Southern Lebanon: “We are prepared for any change in the situation and ready for a wide range of scenarios. In Lebanon, we have established a Security Zone and are clearing it of terrorist infrastructure—these are areas from which the Hezbollah terrorist organization prepared, threatened, and operated against the communities in northern Israel. If need be, we will deepen our operations and reach additional areas. We are operating according to a clear security doctrine: we maintain a forward defense posture wherever there is a direct threat to our communities and to Israeli civilians. The IDF is responsible for the security of the State of Israel — we will not withdraw from the Security Zone until long-term security is ensured.”

The Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, visited southern Lebanon today (Wednesday) together with the Commanding Officer of the Northern Command, MG Rafi Milo, the Commanding Officer of the 91st Division, BG Yuval Gaz, and additional commanders.

During the visit, he also met with the troops and commanders of the Kfir Brigade (900), which entered ground operations in southern Lebanon for the first time last week after an extended period of combat in the Gaza Strip. During the visit, the Chief of the General Staff held discussions with the brigade’s battalion commanders and the brigade commanders of the 91st Division and assessed their readiness for their mission in the sector.

Remarks by the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir:

“Our multi-arena operation has not yet ended, and you must be prepared for it to continue. We are prepared for any change in the situation and ready for a wide range of scenarios. You must remain alert and ready to adapt quickly, act rapidly, and be prepared to intensify the damage inflicted on the enemy.

We have achieved highly significant accomplishments in the operation against Iran. If need be, we know how to build on those achievements.

In Lebanon, we have established a Security Zone are clearing it of terrorist infrastructure—these are areas from which the Hezbollah terrorist organization prepared, threatened, and operated against the communities in northern Israel. If required, we will deepen our operations and reach additional areas. We are operating according to a clear security doctrine: we maintain a forward defense posture wherever there is a direct threat to our communities and to Israeli civilians. The IDF is responsible for the security of the State of Israel—we will not withdraw from the Security Zone until long-term security is ensured.

This period presents major leadership challenges. It is important that we communicate the reality to our personnel and preserve their operational readiness. I would like to express my deep appreciation to the 97th Battalion and the 607th Battalion, in which we carried out a significant force-building effort. They continue to prove themselves through their operational performance and the capabilities they bring.

Troops of the Kfir Brigade, I look at you—you have been in combat almost continuously for nearly three years, with very few opportunities to recover. You moved from Gaza to Lebanon in a very short period of time. Your combat capability, together with the leadership and front-line command demonstrated by your commanders, is truly impressive.

To the brigade commanders—my sincere appreciation. The IDF is a victorious military because of you. There is no mission the IDF has been assigned that it has failed to accomplish, in any arena.

Our mission is to continue providing long-term security for the residents of northern Israel. We are operating along the front line of the communities and have removed the threat of cross-border infiltration.

We are operating inside Lebanon, in Syria, in Gaza, in Judea and Samaria, and in additional arenas. Our missions continue to evolve, and we are required to increase the size of the IDF and the number of our troops in order to meet them. Our goal is that by the High Holiday period, all regular brigades will be able to

IDF: Chief of the General Staff at the northern border in a meeting with commanders from the Hasmonean Brigade: “One of the lessons we learned from the October 7th massacre is that the IDF must grow, expand, and become stronger. We must increase our reinforcement and build more battalions and brigades capable of operating, defeating the enemy, and defending the State of Israel.”

“Our goal is to enable you to serve in the IDF while maintaining your way of life. My commanders and I are committed to this and are giving it considerable thought. Your integration into the IDF is vital to the security of the State of Israel and the entire people of Israel.”

“We are seeing an increase in the enlistment of the ultra-Orthodox into the IDF—both in combat roles and combat support roles. We must continue to replicate the Jonathan Battalion and develop the Hasmonean Brigade into a full combat brigade. We will continue moving forward toward one shared goal. I am proud of you and have full confidence in you.”

The Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, held a discussion today (Wednesday) with the troops of the “Jonathan” Battalion of the Hasmonean Brigade.

The Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, stated:

“We are in a decisive period and continue to fight on multiple fronts simultaneously. We have a strong military whose mission is to protect the State of Israel and its residents. One of the lessons we learned from the October 7th massacre is that the IDF must grow, expand, and become stronger. We must increase our reinforcement and build more battalions and brigades capable of operating, defeating the enemy, and defending the State of Israel.

One of the frameworks we established to strengthen the IDF is the Hasmonean Brigade, and I have no doubt that it will become one of the leading brigades in the IDF. This brigade is breaking new ground. Everywhere I meet commanders and ask about the Jonathan Battalion, I hear praise and a desire to keep you in their sector. This battalion is like Nachshon Ben Amminadav, who was the first to step into the sea and pave the way for the entire people. That is how you will be remembered in the history of our nation. As those who first broke new ground, your actions are making it possible to expand the enlistment of the ultra-Orthodox.

Our goal is to enable you to serve in the IDF while maintaining your way of life. My commanders and I are committed to this and are giving it considerable thought. Your integration into the IDF is vital to the security of the State of Israel and the entire people of Israel.

It is important to me that you preserve your faith and way of life while fulfilling the commandment of defending the State of Israel. It is equally important to me that we uphold every commitment we have made to you. I am aware of the challenges, but this is a national, Jewish, and historic mission. It is a great mitzvah.

Today, I also met with the commanders of the 55th Reserve Brigade. This is the third consecutive year that they have reported for reserve duty and carried the burden for hundreds of days. We must expand the circle of those who serve in order to balance the scope of service and ease the burden on them. This is a goal we can achieve by increasing the number of regular service personnel.

We are seeing an increase in the enlistment of the ultra-Orthodox into the IDF—both in combat roles and combat support roles. We must continue to replicate the Jonathan Battalion and develop the Hasmonean Brigade into a full combat brigade.

We will continue moving forward toward one shared goal. I am proud of you and have full confidence in you.”

IDF: The IDF struck a weapons storage facility established inside a mosque in the Gaza Strip

Over the past week, the IDF struck and dismantled several Hamas weapons storage facilities in the central and northern Gaza Strip.

One of the storage facilities had been established inside a mosque in the northern Gaza Strip.

This is as additional example of the terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip exploiting civilian infrastructure for terrorist purposes by storing weapons in the heart of the civilian population, including in religious sites, to facilitate terrorist activity.

Prior to the strikes, advance warnings were provided to the civilian population to mitigate the risk of harm to them.

The weapons were intended to be used against IDF troops operating in the Yellow Line area and against Israeli civilians, and were dismantled in order to remove the threat.

IDF troops under the Southern Command remain deployed in the area in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue to operate to remove any threat.
